MAHE ISLAND
Measuring 27 kilometers long by 8 kilometers wide, Mahe is covered with lush tropical vegetation (it was originally called "Abundance island"). Its higest point, Morne Seychelles is a 3000 foot mountain.
Mahe is dotted with winding mountain trails and white sand beaches (sixty eight of them) many of them secluded. Beau Vallon beach, located in the north of Mahe is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Take some time to get to know this island, as it is here that you will find and experience most of the Seychellois culture, cuisine and people.
The capital of Seychelles, Victoria, is one of the smallest capital cities in the world. In it you will find most of the banks, embassies art and craft shops and the main market.
Upon arrival you will land at Mahe International airport, which is built on reclaimed land. From here you can book flights to most of the neighboring islands by either helicopter or plane.
